1 / 3

On June 16, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia Timur Urazaev. The Head of Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group Levon Martirosyan and the NA deputy Hayk Babukhanyan also attended the meeting.

The NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of assuming diplomatic mission and wished him fruitful work in further developing of the relations existing between the two countries. Highly assessing the Armenian-Kazakh existing relations, the NA Deputy Speaker highlighted the further development of the inter-parliamentary relations and the role of the Friendship Groups in that issue. In this context the mutual visits and the activation of the contacts at the parliamentary level were highlighted.

In the course of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the cooperation at international parliamentary platforms and the necessity of supporting each other over the issues of importance for one of the parties.

The Ambassador assured that he would do his best in the more deepening of the ties of the two friendly countries and the activation of the practical contacts. He also highlighted the further deepening of the inter-parliamentary relations and the development of cooperation in all spheres.

Highlighting the perspectives of the parliamentary close cooperation, the NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan has noted that those relations were formed between the women politicians and parliamentarians within the framework of the Eurasian Women’s Forum and expressed hope that they would be continuous.

At the meeting the NA Deputy Speaker also touched upon the Armenian Genocide, the Nagorno Karabakh (NK) problem and the Armenian-Turkish relations.

Mrs Naghdalyan has underlined that the Armenian Genocide international recognition is not simply genocide recognition for our people: it has turned into a fighting in order similar crimes towards humanity never be repeated. Mrs Naghdalyan emphasized the distinct assessment of the international community in this issue. In this context the NA Deputy Speaker referred to the religious intolerance, the intensifying terrorism and extremist manifestations.

Noting that the Armenian authorities are for the solution of the problems through negotiations, the NA Deputy Speaker underlined that the Armenian side always expressed that position in the issue of settlement of the relations with Turkey. In that framework she touched upon the ratification process of the Armenian-Turkish protocols and in that aspect Turkey’s non-constructive approach, reminding the Ambassador that Turkey has been keeping Armenia under blockade for 25 years.

Talking about the military aggression by Azerbaijan at the beginning of April, Mrs Naghdalyan noted about the xenophobia policy being permanently encouraged by the authorities of the neighbouring state, the concrete cases of making heroes the criminals and the violence and victims being registered every day in the line of contact, in this context underscoring the necessity of the distinct and addressed assessments by the international community.

During the meeting the sides referred to the exchange of experience in the sphere of legislation, the regional problems and other issues.
